Haverstick Builders: A Century of Building Excellence in Dayton

Haverstick Builders has been a trusted name in the Dayton, Ohio area for over a century, building a legacy of quality craftsmanship and personalized service.

Our story began in the fall of 1918 when Joseph N. Haverstick moved from Northern Indiana to Dayton, and in 1919, he founded Haverstick Builders.

The company has remained family-owned and operated for generations. Joseph’s sons, Joseph B. and Robert J., joined the business in 1936, further solidifying the company’s commitment to the community. Joseph B. Haverstick played a pivotal role in the formation of the National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB), the Ohio Home Builders Association (OHBA), and the Home Builders Association (HBA) of Dayton, even serving as president of all three. Through the 1950s, 60s, and 70s, Haverstick Builders was actively involved in a variety of construction projects, including light commercial buildings, condominiums, apartments, and single-family residences.

Kim HaverstickKim Haverstick, a third-generation builder, joined the family business in 1971 and took the helm as president in 1987. Under Kim’s leadership, Haverstick Builders transitioned its focus from new construction to residential remodeling, specializing in creating beautiful and functional spaces for homeowners. With more than 50 years of experience in the construction industry, Kim has a deep understanding of the building process and a passion for working closely with clients to bring their visions to life.

As a full-service general contractor, Haverstick Builders excels in kitchen, bath, and room additions. Kim is particularly passionate about helping homeowners “age in place,” providing thoughtful and stylish remodeling solutions that prioritize safety and accessibility. Beyond installing handrails, grab bars, and non-slip flooring, Haverstick Builders conducts thorough assessments of potential hazards, including thresholds, rugs, carpeting, and lighting, ensuring a comfortable and secure environment for aging homeowners. They believe in creating spaces that are not only functional but also graceful and aesthetically pleasing, often sought after by discerning homeowners.
